Let Kids Be Kids Instead of Being Hungry

Thousands of local kids will lose their access to lunch while there is no school this summer. Your ten dollars (or more) will help change their world. Please do it now!

From Karen Joyner, CEO of the Southeastern Foodbank:

Let kids be kids

It’s the last day of school. While some kids across the Greater Peninsula daydream about summer adventures, others wonder if this summer will be like the last fewa time with no food in the fridge.

Without help from you and the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank, thousands of children in our community will miss meals this summer. They will get too little food to sustain their growing bodies.

Your gift, which the UUFP is collecting, helps remove the grown-up worries for kids in our community. Every $10 you give helps fill a family’s pantry with 40 nutritious meals and helps get hunger out of a child’s mind.

On behalf of the children who will spend this summer just being kids instead of being hungry, thank you!
