Very exciting changes are coming to UUFP!

To the Members and Friends of UUFP:

Very exciting changes are coming to UUFP!  The Council of Committees and the Policy Board have come up with a suggested re-organization for committees!  Jim Sanderson and the Council of Committees have been working on this for a couple of years and it is now ready for your review and input.

You may ask why?  Several reasons.  Currently the ‘organization’ of UUFP committees is a little like a list of groups.  There is no easy way for groups that affect the various parts of our mission to work together.  And in the past some people have had a great idea for a new program or committee AND no clear way to get this implemented.  The new organization also ensures that when someone says “This is a UUFP activity.” – others will know about it and know who is responsible.

The proposed organization has six ministries.  Chris Woods suggested this and the Council of Committees and Jim refined her ideas.  By having ministries we can more readily focus on the work of the congregation in a coherent and organized way.

Jim, Council of Committees and Policy Board want your input on what is being proposed.  So we have scheduled a town meeting on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 12:15pm in the Sanctuary and on Monday, November 16, 2015 at 7 pm in the Office Building.  Each meeting should last about one hour.

The information that will be presented to you is available at

I can’t thanks Jim Sanderson, Ken Goodrich, Meg Glenn-Albeiz and Rev. Andrew for all of their work on the proposed changes.
I hope all members will attend one of the two upcoming meetings to give input on these suggested changes to our committee structure.
