UPDATE: We’ve had to postpone the volunteer orientation on Sunday due to the Boys & Girls Clubs Volunteer Coordinator having an out-of-state family emergency. Stay tuned for a new date and time.
Now that fall is in full swing, I thought I’d provide an update on volunteer activities at the Aqueduct Boys and Girls Club. First, there will be a volunteer orientation this Sunday, Nov. 1 at 12:30, in the Sanctuary for anyone who has submitted a volunteer application, or anyone who is interested in volunteering and hasn’t yet submitted an application. Jodi Apps, the Clubs’ volunteer coordinator, will be joining us. She will give basic information about volunteering at the club and be able to help you focus in on the particular volunteer activities you would like to do. Please join us!
If you cannot make it on Sunday, you can still participate. Volunteer applications are still available on the social justice bulletin board in the Sanctuary building, or you may download your own at http://www.bagclub.com/volunteer. Completed applications may be emailed to me at firstname.lastname@example.org or deposited into the envelope on the social justice bulletin board in the Sanctuary building.
The Thursday night tutoring program has been rolling along with several volunteers from UUFP participating. Thanks for making a difference in the lives of our neighborhood children!
