Under Lock and Sleep

On Friday, November 15th, 2013 twenty-one youth and four adults attended the Lock-in at the UUFP. There were seven people from Richmond, one from Glen Allen and the rest from our Fellowship. All enjoyed meals, games, worship and eventually a short night’s sleep! Thanks goes out to Margo, Allison, Aaron and Chris (Richmond) for making this a success!

What will the Festival of the Season look like?

On December 7th from noon to 5:00 we will have a winter festival for all ages.

We will start things off with a potluck lunch. Please bring a dish to share. Hot chocolate and apple cider will be provided by children’s RE.Then we’ll begin to decorate the Christmas tree. We will open up our Re-gift store for all to shop. If you would like to contribute items to the gift store please bring them to the Fellowship. We will accept items up until noon on December 7th. Once everyone has had a chance to eat and shop, we will have different craft stations available—Prayer bead bracelets, gift wrapping, gift card making, Christmas wish paper chain making, and hand-dipped chocolate spoons. Santa will arrive around 2:00 to spend time with the children. Parents may take photos. We will then do Christmas caroling by phone. If you have a family member or friend you would like us to sing to, please let them know ahead of time that we will be calling them that afternoon to sing them a merry Christmas. Don’t forget to bring their number! The festival will end with a brief time of worship as we light the tree and a Christmas story to send us on our way. We look forward to seeing you there!

See you in the RE!
