What’s more American than marriage? What’s more American than a cookout?

CookOUT for Marriage Equality with couples across the Commonwealth in anticipation of the Supreme Court’s decision on Proposition 8 and the Defense of Marriage Act. We’re looking for gay and lesbian couples legally married out-of-state and those denied the freedom to marry because of Virginia’s Anti-Marriage Amendment to host a backyard barbeque – or – if you know a couple, host a CookOUT in their honor! –

This is about bringing LGBT people together with friends for a weekend of celebrating the relationships our government does not.  This event will put a face to the issue which helps change hearts and minds.

Editor’s Request:  Please send your CookOut photos and stories to blog@uufp.org to be included in the follow-up article.
